From the {very messy} Desk of Briana: Reopening

Opening Date

THANK YOU for all the support through this pandemic! It has been a trying two months. Your kind words of support, purchasing of gift certificates, and understanding has meant more than you can know! I've said it before and I will say it many, many, many more times - WE HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS!

Well, we are finally legally allowed to reopen on May 11 in Fremont, as of the very moment in time I am writing this. We have decided to stay closed through May 31, 2020. If you are on the schedule we will be in contact with you.

We want to get back to work as much as want to get your massage! Not only are we waiting on some new supplies to come in (everything is back ordered) and ensuring our scheduling works with our updated protocols, but we've had indications from health departments, hospital association, and other entities that Monday might not be the right time to be opening. We will watch the numbers and reevaluate over the next couple weeks.

The difficult part of this is people can be carriers and/or asymptomatic. No amount of screening and cleaning will make it 100% safe. We are in close, confined space for extended period of time which dramatically increases risk of exposure for both therapist and you. Our top priority is to ensure we are doing everything in our power to ensure it is a safe environment for us and for you. At the end of this message is an overview of the protocols we are implementing.

Other Announcements

  1. Best of Fremont 2020 voting is now open for voting. We would love to have your daily vote. You can do so here. We would love to return to work to celebrate my 15th Anniversary as a massage therapist, and 5th year in a row of Best Place to Have a Massage in Fremont!

  2. We have started a new membership program and are phasing out packages. Members receive special pricing on treatments and retail, and perks with our community partners. Learn more here. This would make a lovely mother's day gift (hint hint 😉)

  3. Gift certificates are available online if you are looking for gifts.

  4. All therapists are raising rates in June. (membership rates and packages are not effected by this.) Briana & Jill - $85/hour for non members; Katie - $75/hour for non members

  5. For those not in the know, Anna is expecting a baby in July! We are so very excited for her. This announcement also comes with the unfortunate news that Anna has decided not to return to massage at this point. We are very sad to see her go and wish her all the luck in the world. We have several interviews set up for someone new at the Elkhorn location and will keep you in the loop.

Please feel free to reach out to us with questions! We miss you, hope you are doing well, and look forward to seeing you soon!

Overview of Protocols

We will not be seeing our typical daily number of clients so we can keep in accordance with suggested guidelines from the state, the association, and our own protocols. There is one state mandate: masks/face coverings must be worn at all times in the facility. This is for therapists, employees, and clients.

Just like all other healthcare facilities, we have additional screening questions.

You will still receive your reminders prior to your appointment, but we will be screening for COVID-19 day before and day of appointment in accordance with CDC and Nebraska guidelines. This includes questions about symptoms related to COVID19, exposure, daily habits, and recent travel. This will be either through a form or phone call. Please note we may need to reschedule depending on answers to these questions.

We also will have a new consent form that must be signed prior to your appointment.

We are striving to limit the exposure risk in our building to therapists, other clients, and all our families. Please consider limiting your exposure to the public, both on the whole, and the day of your appointment. Do errands and other activities AFTER your appointment at CM&W. We are in very close quarters for extended periods of time, increasing risk of exposure. Best practice is to come to our office directly from your house. Therapists are doing the same.

Day of appointment

  • Due to Nebraska State Mandate, everyone in the building must wear a mask/face covering.

    • Please help us out and come with a mask, the disposable ones are not available to purchase right now so having a lot of masks on hand for you will be difficult. We do not want to risk having to reschedule your appointment because you don’t have a mask.

  • One person per therapist is allowed in the building at a time, no friends or family members may wait in the lobby.

  • To accommodate proper flow of traffic and limit exposure, you will need to wait in your car until we wave you into the building.

    • To limit touching surfaces, we will open and close the front door for you.

  • You will need to wash/sanitize hands when you enter the building.

  • We will screen for possible health changes and again ask COVID-19 questions.

  • If your doctor has suggested that you remain at home for a longer period of time due to your health condition(s), we will begin treatments when your doctor has released you.

During the session

  • We will have our typical conversation prior to your treatment with masks on.

  • Please take care to touch as few surfaces as possible

  • We will NOT require you to wear a mask while face down, we have precautions in place for that, but if you would prefer to leave your mask on you can.

  • When face up you can choose to wear your mask or we will have a drape to place over your nose and mouth.

  • If we do massage your hands, we will save them for last.

Extra precautions we are taking for your safety

  • Therapists are closely monitoring our health as well as limiting exposure outside of the clinic.

  • We have reduced the amount of ‘soft’ surfaces and replaced many with a hard cleanable surface

  • We will wear a new mask and an apron/clothes for each client.

  • We have sanitizer handy for clients

  • We open the windows between clients

  • We are sanitizing everything (above and beyond our normal rigorous cleaning) possible before and after each client in all spaces.

  • We are spacing client appointments much farther apart to allow for extreme cleaning practices, as well as to limit the number of people in the office at one time.

Payment and rescheduling

  • Credit - we will use your card on file and can charge you without needing your card

  • Check–have it written out and place on the desk before you enter the massage room

  • Cash– have exact amount, place on the desk before you enter the massage room

  • Gift Cards - we will have you read the number to us

  • Most of you already plan out your appointment’s weeks or months in advance. We ask you to schedule your next appointments either online or over the phone, rather than in the lobby.
